Prof. Stefano Uccella, MD, PhD
Prof. Stefano Uccella was born in Varese (Italy) on 15/7/1979. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery with full marks in 2003, he has been a specialist in Gynecology and Obstetrics since 2008 (50/50 cum laude). He spent a period of 18 months as Research Trainee and Research Collaborator at the Division of Gynecologic Oncology of the Mayo Clinic - Rochester (Minnesota - USA), one of the most renowned gynecological centers in the world.
He was Director of the Complex Structure of Obstetrics and Gynecology and of Territorial Services for 2 years (from 2018 to 2020) at the ASL Biella. Previously, he was Consultant at the SC of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the ASST Settelaghi - Varese (University of Insubria) and then Consultant with High Specialty role at the Policlinico Gemelli in Rome.
He is currently Full Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University of Verona (Italy).
Member of several national and international scientific societies, he is Professor at the Master of Oncological Gynecology of the Catholic University of Rome and at the Mini-Invasive Gynecology Master of the University of Bologna. He has also been awarded the title of Surgeon of Excellence by the American Surgical Review Corporation.
He has received multiple awards for his scientific production, his surgical activity and his congress presentations.
His surgical activity embraces all aspects of surgery in both obstetrics and gynecology, from minor to more complex procedures. He has performed more than 5000 surgeries using all the approaches of the reference discipline, including Laparoscopic, Robotic, Laparotomy and Vaginal.
For years he has been identified as a team leader in the management of complex obstetric-gynecological cases in the structures where he worked and he is considered a national and international opinion leader in the field of Gynecology.
He has published more than 250 articles in peer-reviewed and indexed journals, many of which have been considered "practice-changing". Its current Hirsch index (H-index) is 42 (scopus).
He has held more than 100 conferences at national and international congresses. He has performed numerous live surgery demonstrations at National and International scientific congresses.
